About Shoot
Shoot Ogawa, born in Tokyo, Japan, discovered his passion for magic at just 10 years old. By 17, he had already won First Place in Stage Magic at the St. Louis Magic Jubilee, marking the beginning of an illustrious international career. Since then, Shoot has performed in over 50 countries.
In 2002, Shoot moved to Hollywood and became a regular performer at the world-renowned Magic Castle. A year later, he made history by becoming the youngest magician to win the Academy of Magical Arts’ Close-up Magician of the Year award, a title he claimed again in 2006. He continued to rack up honors, being named Parlour Magician of the Year in 2008 and 2009, and Stage Magician of the Year in 2015 and 2017. Most recently, in 2023 and 2024, he earned the Lecture Magician of the Year title, making him one of the most decorated magicians at the Magic Castle.
Shoot’s reputation as a master magician reached new heights when he was invited to perform at The FISM, the “Olympics of Magic,” in 2009, 2012, and 2018. In 2022, he became the first magician from Asia to win First Prize in the Parlour Category at The World Championship of Magic / FISM in Quebec, solidifying his place as one of the top magicians in the world.
Penn Jillette of Fool Us fame has called Shoot “the best sleight of hand artist alive today,” a testament to his extraordinary skill.
